Everyone knows the famous Looney Tunes cat, Sylvester, and most fans are familiar with other cats like Claude and Penelope. But what about Sam? Sam the Cat only appeared in four cartoons, and oddly enough, there was a seven-year gap between the first two, and the second two. Sam was introduced in "Trick or Tweet" (Friz Freleng, 1959) as a rival to Sylvester in his pursuit of Tweety. He was voiced by an uncredited Daws Butler, in a loose impression of comedian and singer Frank Fontaine. Butler wa
